In partnership with The Montgomery Summit, March hosts a monthly, virtual series for our community featuring topical issues that impact the Innovation Economy.

What began in early 2020 with discussion on COVID-19’s impact on specific sectors has evolved into a sharing of insights from leading scholars, entrepreneurs, executives and investors on the current economic environment in the U.S. and globally.

CO-CREATION STUDIOS

March is an investor in both The Hive and The Fabric, two Silicon Valley co-creation studios co-founded by one of our partners, Sumant Mandal. These studios give us an early look at emerging companies tackling large markets of interest and an opportunity to co-build companies from the outset, then accelerate them.

THE HIVE CREATING AI-NATIVE AND DATA-DRIVEN STARTUPS

The Hive is creating AI-native and data-driven enterprise startups, focusing on Business Processes, Digital Risk, Industry 4.0, Ambient Intelligence and Digital Health. Examples of success in March’s portfolio include FogHorn and Xage Security. Current project is with Live Objects.

THE FABRIC CREATING CLOUD AND INDUSTRIAL INFRASTRUCTURE STARTUPS

The Fabric builds Cloud and industrial infrastructure startups. Together The Fabric and March have achieved successful exits through VeloCloud (acquired by VMware) and Perspica (acquired by Cisco Systems). Current project is with Mesh7.

The March Capital Foundation allocates 1% of the profit of March Capital to support a select number of programs that provide at-risk groups and the broader community with access to the innovation economy. The focus of the Foundation is to address homelessness, hunger, and community health, and to expand engagement in innovation and entrepreneurship.
 
March Capital views its community involvement similar to its engagement with its portfolio companies and dedicates significant leadership as well as resources to a concentrated number of programs.
 
In 2020, support was provided to The People Concern, Venice Family Clinic, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, LA Metropolitan Debate League, Coalition for Responsible Community Development, HBCU.vc, J. Paul Getty Education Programs, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Claremont McKennna College, and other organizations.
