Johnny Hooper is an Associate at March Capital who focuses on supporting the investment team with diligence, deal execution, and operational support.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Johnny attended the University of California, Berkeley (B.S., Business Administration) where he was Captain of the Men’s Water Polo Team and a four-time All-American, helping to lead the team to win the 2016 Division I National Championship. After graduating, Johnny competed in the Tokyo Olympics for Team USA’s Men’s Water Polo. He later joined the Goldman Sachs TMT group (San Francisco), where he worked on M&A, IPOs, and strategic financings. In 2023, Johnny was asked to rejoin Team USA to compete in the Paris Olympics where he won a bronze medal.

Johnny was drawn to March Capital’s mission, culture, and enterprise investment focus. He has always been passionate about technology and is excited to be more involved in the venture ecosystem in Southern California.

Outside of work, Johnny is an outdoor enthusiast who loves golfing, surfing, and spending time with his friends; he is passionate about ocean-heath and is an Ambassador for the Ocean Recovery Alliance. When not outside, he can be found reading a good book and listening to his favorite artists or a podcast.
