Rajan Mehra is a Partner at March Capital, where he advises the firm on its Indian investments. With over a decade of experience in venture capital, Rajan has fostered relationships with technology founders in both the enterprise and consumer sectors. At March, Rajan has board responsibilities across the firm’s enterprise software investments, including Acceldata, BillDesk, & Shiprocket.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Rajan was always fascinated by the intersection of technology and business. He graduated from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business (MBA) and the University of Mumbai Sydenham College (B.Com). Before joining March Capital, Rajan was instrumental in scaling India’s leading online marketplace, Baazee.com, which became one of the first meaningful exits for Indian internet investors when acquired by eBay in 2004.
Passionate about fueling growth in the Indian tech ecosystem, Rajan transitioned from eBay, where he was Country Manager for India, to Clearstone Venture Advisors, the India Advisory of Clearstone Venture Partners. Rajan later co-founded Nirvana Venture Advisors before joining March Capital in 2020 to invest in companies supporting the fast-growing digitization of India and to work with long-time collaborator Sumant Mandal.
Rajan also serves on the Advisory Board for the Muktangan Education Trust, supporting community education in Mumbai. Outside the office, Rajan has been a lifelong avid squash player. These days, he spends much of his free time engrossed in business history, reading Indian philosophy, and enjoying quality time with his family.
