Richard Gu

Vice President

Richard Gu is a Vice President at March Capital where he provides support to existing portfolio companies and evaluates potential new investments at the intersection of AI, data & healthcare.

Born in Ann Arbor and raised between Michigan and Shanghai, Richard attended the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business (BBA; minor in Chinese). His prior experience in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey and in private equity at Sverica Capital and Rockbridge Growth Equity gave Richard a strong empirical and analytical foundation in software, e-commerce, and business services.

Richard values March’s commitment to excellence and its tight-knit team. He values The Montgomery Summit’s ability to convene industry thought leaders for in-depth discussions, particularly those on AI’s impact on healthcare: from novel therapies to navigating the complexity of the healthcare system.

Richard stays active outside the office and emphasizes balance in all facets of life, whether that’s playing basketball, or traveling to visit family in Shanghai. Richard also remains an active member of the Ross Alumni Network at Michigan—Go Blue!
